| As far as I know there are four ways to identify a Pittsburg product 1) By marking -- Pittsburg marks are listed in Jack Tod's porcelain guide book and are fairly rare, however, there are dated markings that can be attributed solely to Pittsburg production. Click here to see Elton Gish' list of such marking. 2) By style -- certain unipart styles have been attributed to Pittsburg production (porcelain Mickey's etc.) 3) By glaze -- Pittsburg specialists can often ID a piece by a characteristic peppery glaze 4) By pinhole -- Stated above, a distinctive concentric circular indentation |
